Domestic alumina production capacity is mainly concentrated in the following three regions, one is Guangxi, Guizhou, Chongqing and Yunnan-based southwestern regions, which account for 20.54% of China's total production capacity; one is Shanxi and Henan-based northern domestic alumina. The plant has a production capacity of about 45%. In addition, it is based in Shandong, which is mainly imported, and its production capacity accounts for 34.17% of the total scale. Last year, under a series of environmental pressures, some mines that were not environmentally friendly were shut down, resulting in a tighter supply.

2018 is the year of global alumina production decline, which is the first decline in alumina production since the 2009 financial crisis. On the one hand, the foreign disturbances were too frequent, causing a decline in the output of many alumina plants with the highest production capacity. On the other hand, the domestic production capacity was not as expected. Looking back at the whole 2018, the domestic new capacity is only 3.05 million tons, and there are not many actual production projects.

This year, the environmental protection inspectors in the northern region have led to the closure of a large number of illegal and illegal mines. The supply of bauxite has declined, resulting in high ore prices in the north. At the same time, the price of bauxite remains high in the inland areas of the north, stimulating the purchase of imported ore by the alumina enterprises in the Mainland. Therefore, it relatively inhibits the rising space of domestic ore.
