1. This Black Silicon Carbide is produced at high temperature in high temperature furnace, with quartz sand and petroleum coke as the main raw materials. It is superior to corundum in terms of stiffness and mechanical strength because it is crisp and sharp. It is harder than alumina and is therefore commonly used in the grinding wheel, slurry, refractory and ceramic industries. As it breaks down into smaller particles, the media will reveal new sharp edges. Therefore, black silicon carbide can be reused.

2. Black Silicon Carbide has lower hardness and abrasion resistance than industrial diamond and boron carbide. However, it is much less expensive than diamond or B4C and is therefore widely used for grinding non-ferrous materials, finishing hard materials, and filling ceramic parts. Therefore, Black Silicon Carbide is ideal for sand blasting, vitrification and resin grinding wheels, composites, wire saw silicon and quartz, polishing, grinding and tumbling. When aggressive deburring, descaling and edge rounding are required, the parts can be automatically tumbling using silicon carbide tumbling grit. Silicon carbide deburring sand will resist fracturing.
